His full name is Imam Abu 'Abdullah Ja'far as-Saadiq ibn Muhammad al-Baaqir ibn 'Ali Zayn al-'Aabideen ibn al-Husayn ibn 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allah be pleased with him and be pleased with them). His mother was Umm Farwah bint al-Qaasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr at-Taymi. Her mother was Asmaa' bint.
